About me
I grew up in a household where Agile, Waterfall, and SQL solutions were regular topics at the dinner table. I was introduced to coding through HTML when I was twelve, which I used to create my first website. After experimenting with biology and genome science, I couldn’t fight my calling and was drawn back into software development. There, I reignited my passion for programming.
I quickly fell in love with databases. Their clean, organized, and logical nature appealed to me. I refocused my job search, prioritizing database experience in school projects whenever possible. I experimented with app development, giving me NoSQL experience. For my capstone, I created a livestock management system where I focused on the SQL and hardware side of the project.
I used my connections to begin web development for a local community jazz band. I got experience using WordPress and created a locked member site with a database of over 3,000 sheets of music that I organized by song and instrument. Due to technical constraints, I implemented this database using the post functionality. This gave me experience in creating databases in unconventional mediums.
Through my various projects, my passion for databases has only grown. I also excel at written communication, having done well in many writing classes. I often assist others when they write professional emails.
I am now looking to apply my skills and passion for databases in a career where I can continue to learn and to become a better developer.
